Ronald B. Roberts

Obituary: Ronald B. Roberts, 78 of Kannapolis passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013 at CMC-Northeast following a period of declining health. Mr. Roberts was born on November 25, 1934 in Iredell County, NC the son of the late Douglas B. and Louise Greeson Roberts. Funeral services for Mr. Roberts will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus Portis officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home prior to the services. Mr. Roberts was formerly employed as a machinist at Celanese in Salisbury. For many years he was a volunteer for Enochville Fire and Rescue Squad and was an EMT field instructor for Rowan Technical College. He served in the Air National Guard for 10 years. He enjoyed working with wood and in general keeping busy around the house. He was member of Bethpage United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; Doris A. Bolick Roberts of the home, a son; Charles "Chuck" Roberts of the home, a daughter; Robbin Roberts Cramer and husband Bruce of Cornelius, three grandchildren; Jessica Ard, James Daniel Parham, and Katelynn B. Roberts, and two great grandchildren; Janie and Bella. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
