Rosa “Rosie” Hancock, 87, of Mooresville went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday December 15, 2019, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, after an extended illness. She was born June 17, 1932 in Union County to the late John Clingman Mills and Gladys Mae Birmingham Mills.
Rosie enjoyed solving word puzzles and working in her yard, cooking and caring for her family. She was meticulous at keeping her house clean and always enjoyed sharing time with her family and friends. Rosie attended Central Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carroll Hancock, and her brother John David Mills.
Family members that will always cherish memories of Rosie are her daughter Sandy Jenkins and husband Darrell of Mooresville, her son Danny Hancock and wife Beverly of Granite Quarry, and her sister Jackie Rowell of Kannapolis, also her four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December19, 2019 in Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Parker officiating. Receiving of friends will be from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Rosie will be laid to rest beside her husband in Carolina Memorial Park following the service.
