Rosia Grant

Obituary: Rosia Lee Fox Grant, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Universal Healthcare, Concord, NC. She was born June 16, 1918 in Catawba County, NC, the daughter of the late Parks Jefferson Fox and Bertie Helton Fox. Rosia was a former member of Eastwood Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC. She grew up in the Kannapolis Church of God. She loved music and played guitar in church. In addition to being a homemaker with three sons, Rosia worked with the former Cannon Mills Company. She was a photographer, a beautician, and worked in insurance. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Norman O. Ritchie; last husband, Harold Grant; her two sons, Jerry P. Ritchie and Roger L. Ritchie; her daughter, Norma Lee Ritchie; and two brothers, Paul Fox and Pete Fox. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 22, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Darrell Coble. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her son, Norman (Tony) Ritchie & wife, Janice W. Ritchie of Concord, NC; a daughter-in-law, Joyce D. Ritchie; four grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. The family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff at Universal Healthcare and to Dr. Duggal for their steadfast love and care for Rosia during her period of declining health.
