Obituary: - Rosie Black Campbell, age 81, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Five Oaks Nursing Center, Concord, NC after a period of declining health. She was born March 11, 1929 in Chesterfield County, SC. In earlier years she worked at the former Zayre's Department Store and Cook's Department Store in Kannapolis, NC; however, she was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of the Real Life Church (former Fisher St. Church of God), Concord, NC where she had served as church secretary & treasurer. She is preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Douglas Campbell who died July 1, 2003. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Jonathan Rushing. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her son, John Wilson Wallace, Jr. of Kannapolis, NC; her daughter, Rhonda Wallace Padgett & husband, James of Lexington, SC; two grandchildren, Courtney Padgett and Christopher Padgett; one sister, Eunice Eason and a sister-in-law, Margaret Black, both from Mt. Croghan, SC. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen, Breast Cancer Research, 5005 Lyndon B.
