Rosinell Josephine (Hatley) Cress

Rosinell Josephine Hatley Cress,93 of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Caremoor Place in Kannapolis.

She was born April 22, 1931 in Stanly County, N.C. a daughter of the late Junie Washington Hatley and Alice Mae Earnhardt Hatley. Also preceding her In death was her husband, Luther Martin Cress, Jr.

Family members left to cherish her memory include a son, Luther “Luke” Martin Cress, III of Kannapolis, daughter, Shelby Belk and husband Fred of Kannapolis, son, Danny Cress of Kannapolis, a daughter, Anita Sadler of Rockwell, daughter, Barbara Eller and husband Lloyd of Supply, daughter, Margie O’Shields and husband Buddy of Huntersville. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Cress was a 1949 graduate of Cannon High School. She was employed at Cannon Mills, Plt. #1 sewing room for many years.

She was a member of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church of Kannapolis. She enjoyed watching Western movies and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

Services for Mrs. Cress will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Stan Welch. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
