Ross Cannon Storey

Obituary: Mr. Ross Cannon Storey, 89, passed away on February 12, at his residence after a period of declining health. He was born June 24, 1925 in Watauga County, NC, the son of the late Thomas Lincoln Storey and the late Minnie Gertrude Hodge Storey. He was a long time area resident and was of the Baptist faith. He was an iron worker and a carpenter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, and spending time with his family and loved NASCAR racing. He was an avid fan of Richard Petty. Survivors include his wife of 67 years; Loretta Rogers Storey of the family home. A son; Michael Storey and wife Ann of Kannapolis. Daughters; Sherry Storey Watson and husband Terry of Salisbury and Beverly Storey McLendon of Kannapolis. 7 Grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm - 1:30pm Saturday February 14, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The rest of the time the family will be at the family residence.
