Roxie Edith Irvin Gentle

Obituary: Roxie Edith Irvin Gentle, 86 of Kannapolis, NC passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at CMC-Northeast. She was born in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Luther Calvin and Nannie Frances Goins Miller. She was a member of the former Elm Street Church of God which is now The Kannapolis West "A" Church of God. She retired from Cannon Mills Plant 4 Cloth Room. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles "Charlie" Brown Irvin and Henry Thaddeus "Joe" Gentle, a brother, C. David Miller of Glen Mills, PA, a sister, Mary Lee Fortner of Johnson City, TN , a granddaughter, Meagean Brittany Irvin and a great-grandson, Easton Brown Irvin. Survivors include three sons, Charles "Chuck" Eric Irvin (Sherry), Marty Brown Irvin (Sally) from Kannapolis, NC and Bradley Steven Irvin (Amy) from Concord, NC. Grandchildren: Miles Chase Irvin, Matthew Caleb Irvin, Graham Justin Irvin, Alexandra Elyse Irvin, Olivia Grace Irvin and Caroline Whitley Slough. Great- Grandchildren: Addisyn Marie Irvin; and many special nephews, nieces and cousins. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at First Wesleyan Church at 301 Bethpage Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the church with Rev. Scott Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 601 Mt. Olivet Road, Concord, NC 28025. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Wesleyan Church, 301 Bethpage Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081, First Baptist Church of Kannapolis, 101 N.
