Obituary: Roy McDonald Hill, Jr. 60, died Saturday, January 4, 2014. Roy was born June 10, 1953 in Chesapeake, VA. to the late Roy McDonald Hill, Sr. and Frances Blackwelder Hill. He was in the construction business for many years and was a member of the JESSE BOLT band as a drummer since 1975. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Peck of the home; a son, Jason Furr (Christina) of Concord; a daughter, Samantha Hill of Concord; a step-son, Travis Richter of Concord; a granddaughter, Jordan Furr of Mt. Pleasant, NC; two great grandchildren, Graham Edwards and Avery Edwards; two sisters, Sonya Hill of Concord and Amy Hill Morgan of Washington, NC; and a brother, Tracy Hill of Washington, NC. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Morgan officiating. Internment will follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens.
