Roy H. Mullinax

Obituary: Mr. Roy H. Mullinax, 79, of Kannapolis passed away at his residence on Wednesday, March 3, 2015 following a period of declining health. He was born December 30, 1935 in Cherokee County, SC a son of the late Jim Bodie Mullinax and Viola Wisher Mullinax. Roy was an iron worker for forty years. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union #848. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Viet Nam era. He loved to fish and hunt. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Melanie S. Mullinax of the home, two daughters, Sherry Bryant of Chesnee, SC and Lisa Stokes (Brandon) of Wilkesboro, one son, Mark Mullinax (Ashlee) of Concord, seven grandchildren; Bobby, Benjie, Melissa, McKenzie, Katie, Allison, and Hailey. He is also survived by one sister, Ruby Whittin of Blacksburg, SC. A Memorial Service for Mr. Mullinax will be held 7:00 P.M. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Billy Carey. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
