Roy Lynn Overcash

Obituary: Roy Lynn Overcash, age 86, died Sunday, September 20, 2009 at his home after a period of declining health. He was born February 8, 1923 in Rowan County, NC, the son of Roy Benton Overcash and Ollie Viola Yost Overcash. He was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plt.#1, #2 Weave Room for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Kannapolis, NC. He was known for riding his motorcycle as well as enjoying fishing. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Phillips Overcash who died September 10, 2000; three brothers and one sister. A graveside service will be private at a later date. Survivors include his three daughters, Shirley Davidson of Texas, Susan Anderson & husband, Toby of Salisbury, NC, and Regina Overcash of Rockwell, NC; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harold Overcash of Kannapolis, NC. Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 811 Delane Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
