Roy Gene Shue

Obituary: Roy Eugene "Gene" Shue, age 75, of Concord passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 after a period of declining health. Visitation will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home on Sunday, December 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. His funeral will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 3 at New Hope Independent Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Bostic officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Gene was born May 11, 1943 in Cabarrus Co., the son of the late Roy W. and Mary Etta McCall Shue. He was a lifelong area resident and long-time member of New Hope Independent Freewill Baptist Church. Gene was employed at Cannon Mills Comp. for many years as a fixer in the weave room, until he retired. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his son, David Shue. He is survived by his sister, Kay Hawks and his nieces, Sheila Barbee (Ronald), Shonda Kimberlin (Marty) and Pam Baugh (Harley), all of Concord, and Teresa Bostian (Jimmy) of Harrisburg, his daughters are Sharon Wheeler of Mocksville and Angela Simmons of China Grove, his grandchildren are D.J., Cassandra, Cameron, Austin, Michael and Matthew.
