Roylene Smith

Obituary: Roylene D. Smith, 78, of Salisbury went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born October 17, 1935 in Dickens, Tx. a daughter of the late Roy and Anna Lou Dunavant. She moved to this area in 2000 and was an active member of West Point Baptist Church. She was a dedicated wife and mother of two children and will be dearly missed. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, J.P. Smith of the home, a son, Carlton Smith of East Freetown, Mass., a daughter, Melinda S. Perry of Pawtucket, RI. two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at West Point Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Shelton. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. at the church prior to the service. Interment will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, September 26, 2014 at Floydada Cemetery in Floydada, Tx. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 or to Rowan County Hospice, 720 Grove Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.
