Obituary: Mrs. Ruby Bare Jones, 85, of Salisbury went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2017 at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born July 19, 1931 in Raleigh, Co. West Virginia a daughter of the late Eugene Bare and Pearl McGrady Bare. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Adolphus Benjamin Jones who preceded her in death in 2009. Ruby was owner/operator of Laurel Cottage Interiors for 20 years. She was of the Baptist Faith. Ruby enjoyed bridge and was a member of Newcomer Bridge Club. She also was an avid bowler. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Bill Roberts. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence. Interment services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Old Historic National Cemetery in Salisbury. Survivors include a son, Mike Jones of Salisbury, a daughter, Deborah Jones of Landis, four brothers, Earnest Bare of China Grove, Robert Bare of Landis, Paul Bare and wife Sarah and Carol Bare and wife Frann all of Salisbury. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Ashley (Chase) Overcash of Salisbury, two great grandchildren, Victoria and Vada Overcash and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special friend whom she considered part of the family, Sylvia Gross.
