Ruby Dellinger

Obituary: Ruby Johnston Dellinger, 93, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Tucker Hospice House. Mrs. Dellinger was born September 12, 1921 in Cabarrus County to the late James Lee Johnston and Mary Rogers Johnston. Ruby was married to the late Rex Dellinger who preceded her. She was a lifelong member of Gilwood Presbyterian Church where she was active in the women's circle and church choir. She was a caregiver to many especially to her mother, sister, and husband. Survivors include a son, Jimmy Dellinger (Bobbie) of Davidson; grandchildren, Garrett (Kristal) Dellinger, Jason Dellinger, and Rebecca Dellinger; a great- grandson, Johnston Gavin Dellinger; two special nieces, Mary Ann Livingston and Patsy Lawing. Ruby was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 15, 2014 at Gilwood Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Alan Buckner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Whitley's Funeral Home.
