Ruby Hardy Fletcher

Obituary: Ruby Hardy Fletcher, 98 of Harrisburg, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Bob & Carolyn Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health. Mrs. Fletcher was born on November 20, 1914 in Uxbridge, Ontario Canada a daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude Mantle Hardy. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Layman Emerald Fletcher who passed away August 21, 2007 and two sisters. Mrs. Fletcher was a homemaker and a minister's wife serving by his side throughout his career in the many communities that they were a part of. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family. Funeral services for Mrs. Fletcher will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday prior to the services at the funeral home. Mrs. Fletcher is survived by a son; Donald Fletcher and wife Lorraine of Pilot Point, TX, three daughters; Donna Gilbert and husband Terrance of Terrell, NC, Sylvia Knight and husband James of Concord, and Shirley Horwath and husband Fred of Del Ray Beach, FL., nine grandchildren; Todd and wife Stefanie, Kristen, Jim and wife Katrina, Kevin and wife Miranda, Jackie, Jacob and wife Beth, Jill and husband Will, and Scott and wife Kim, fourteen great grandchildren; Jaret, Caitlyn, Abigail, Peyton, Joshua, Matthew, Nicole, Sarah, Michael, Steven, Kasey, Isabelle, Caleb, and Jackson. The family suggest memorials be made to Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081
