Obituary: Ruby Stacks Funderburk, 81, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Tucker Hospice House. She was born December 29, 1932 in Lancaster County, SC, the daughter of the late Grover Wesley Stacks and Ethel Purvis Stacks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewell (D.T.) Funderburk in 2001. She retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Inc in 1987 where she worked at Plant 1 Wash Cloth Dept. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, member of the Senior Citizens group and funeral committee member that served meals for families. In earlier years, she taught Sunday school and helped with the Youth Summer Camps. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 19th at Central Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Curtis Parker. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at her home. She is survived by three daughters, Vickie F. Hunsucker (Gary), Rita F. Steele (Harold), Karen F. Tucker (Steve) all of Concord, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Comfort Keepers, especially Teresa Poplin and Kellye Reed, for their love and care shown to Ruby and the family.
