Obituary: Ruby Hall Link, age 82, of Kannapolis died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 3 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Rev. Mike Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 PM Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home. Ruby was born February 12, 1928 in Cabarrus Co. North Carolina, a daughter of the late Leverette and Elizabeth Mason Hall. She was a lifelong area resident, educated in the Kannapolis School System, graduating from J.W. Cannon High School in 1945. She worked for FieldCrest-Cannon until her retirement. Ruby attended Piedmont Baptist Church in Kannapolis. She enjoyed playing the piano by ear and loved to shop and play with her little dog, Skeeter. Ruby loved her family. She was a devoted wife mother, grandmother and will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by 4 sisters, 4 brothers, her son-in-law Kenneth Campbell and her granddaughter, Angel Shea Thomasee. Ruby is survived by her husband of 56 years, Everette Link of the home, her daughters, Debbie Campbell (Jeff) of Kannapolis, Ann Campbell (Gene) of China Grove, her grandchildren Amy Greene (P.J.) of Chester, VA and Kendra Campbell (Hut) of China Grove, Jennifer Campbell of Kannapolis and Chris Campbell (Jennifer) of Kannapolis. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren Zachary, Emily, Lily and Emma and 2 sisters, Elsie Hatley of Kannapolis and Thelma Heglar of Mooresville and her special little dog, Skeeter.
