Obituary: Ruby Bostian Litaker, 90, of Kannapolis passed peacefully at Tucker Hospice House on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 after 5 years of declining health. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 2 at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove with Rev. David Shoemake officiating. Her body will lie-in-state at Whitley's Funeral Home from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, December 1, but her family will be gathered to receive friends at 7939 Texas Place in Kannapolis from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Saturday. Ruby was born December 12, 1921 in Cabarrus Co. NC, a daughter of the late John and Lula Castor Bostian. She was a life-long area resident and member of the former Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kannapolis. She was a member of the Morning Circle and Jackson Park Home Demonstration Club. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Lex James Litaker in 1992, her brother, Gilbert A. Bostian, her sisters; Emma B. Murphy- Eddleman, Bertie B. Rodden, Mildred B. King, Dorothy B. Eller and Florence B. Edwards. She is survived by her sons; Michael W. Litaker (Lily), John Stephen Litaker (Kay) and her daughter, Janet L. Chance (George), all of Kannapolis, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
