Ruby Clarke Livengood

Obituary: Ruby Clarke Livengood, 98, of Lewiston, Maine, formerly of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Clover Manor in Lewiston following a period of declining health. Ruby was born June 29, 1920 in Madison County, Ga., a daughter of the late Lee and Annie Scoggins Scarborough. For many years she was employed as a weaver in the Plt. #1, weave room of Cannon Mills. She later was employed at Hardee's. She was a member of Lane Street Church of God, (now Living Water Church of God Fellowship). In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands; Claude Clarke and Preston James Livengood, and a granddaughter, Robin Clarke. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Segraves, two brothers, Norman and Leroy Scarborough and a sister, Reba Roberts. Survivors include a son, Lee David Clarke and wife Nancy of Lewiston, Maine, a sister, Rossie Cooper, a brother, Paul Scarborough and wife Hazel, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dr. Greg Sloop. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
