Ruby Weaver Pence

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Ruby Weaver Pence, age 85, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Morningside Assisted Living, Concord, NC after a period of declining health. She was born July 27, 1927 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Arlo Gaither Weaver and Jennie Lee Stack Weaver. Ruby was employed as office manager with the State Farm Insurance Office, Kannapolis, NC for many years until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of Centerview Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC where she was active in various phases of church activities. She is fondly remembered as a lady who loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Ray Pence, who died August 11, 2011; one great-granddaughter, Chloe VanWingerden; one sister, Carrie Lee Compton; and one brother, Johnny Weaver. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Centerview Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. William Rash. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include her children, one daughter, Sandra Dean & husband, Paul of Milledgeville, Ga; two sons, Bobby Pence & wife, Sherry of Charlotte, NC; and Randy Pence & wife, Kathy of Supply, NC; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joyce Morris & husband, Bob of Kannapolis, NC.
