Obituary: Ruby Evelyn Price, 91, of Kannapolis died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville after a period of declining health. Her funeral will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 26 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with, nephew, Johnny E. Price speaking. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home a half hour prior to the service. Ruby was born March 1, 1920 Greenville, SC, a daughter of the late Ernest and Lola Mae Tucker Price. She was a long-time area resident, working in Cannon Mills until retirement, after that she worked in the cafeteria at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School. Ruby was raised the Church of God. She will always be remembered for her delightful sense of humor, her love of children, fishing and being outdoors. She was preceded in death by 1 sister, Bernice Freeman and 4 brothers, Lloyd, Martin, Gary and Robert Ernest Price. Ruby is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews; including Johnny and David Price of Kannapolis and Barbara Frye of Concord.
