Ruby C. Utley

Obituary: Ruby Cress Utley, age 92, of Kannapolis passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House Mrs. Utley was born November 17, 1924 in Mecklenburg County the daughter of the late George B. Cress and Viola Lentz Cress. She was a graduate of Concord High School. Mrs. Utley retired from Cannon Mills in 1989 after 35 years of service. Ruby was a member of Family of Faith Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband William D. Utley in October, 1998; daughter Lee Johnson on August 17, 2017; brother Hubert Cress on September 2016. Those left to cherish her memories are her children Susie Utley of Kannapolis and David Utley (Robin) of Mooresville; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 PM Wednesday, October 4, 2017 with service to follow at 2:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tucker Hospice House, 5005 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the Utley family.
