Obituary: Kannapolis, NC Ruby May Hodge Windham, 77, of 138 Westover Ave. died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast Med. Center after a period of declining health. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 16 at 2:00 PM at Ben Ave. Free Will Baptist Church in Kannapolis, with Rev. Don Draughn officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Friday, at other times the family will be at her residence. Ruby was born January 25, 1933 in Chesterfield Co. SC the daughter of the late John Hodge, Jr. and Willie Virginia Brock Hodge. She moved here in the 1960's. She worked for Cannon Mills/Pillowtex as a weaver until she retired. Ruby was a member of Ben Avenue Free Will Baptist Church. She loved going to church and growing flowers. Ruby was a devoted Christian woman, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed. Ruby was also preceded death by 4 brothers and her husband, Roland Windham, who died in 2006. She was also survived by 9 children, 23 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, 2 brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
