Obituary: Mrs. Ruda Broome Clark, 73, of China Grove went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 following a period of declining health. She was born September 23, 1941 in Iredell County, NC a daughter of the late Dewey Roy Broome and Eutha Mahala Benfield Broome. She was a graduate of South Rowan High School, attended King's Business College and Southeastern Cosmetology School in Charlotte. She was a beautician in early life and later was a shipping clerk at Cannon Mills until they closed. She was an avid cat lover. Ruda was a former member of Corriher Heights Baptist Church and attended North Kannapolis United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Roger Bostic. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. prior to the service. A committal service will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Historic National Cemetery, 202 Government Road, Salisbury, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Cecil Clark who died November 27, 1991, and a brother Thomas Broome who died April 4, 2015.
