Rufus Hunsucker

Obituary: Rufus Vennard Hunsucker, 69, of Concord passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Tucker Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 31, 1948 in Concord to the late Dorris Ray Hunsucker and Mamie Greene Hunsucker. Rufus was a simple, kind, and caring man. He worked for Lowes Home Improvement in Concord for many years. Those left to cherish his memory his wife, Sybil Purvis Hunsucker, three children Michelle (Jeff) Barnhardt of Concord, Shane (Alon) Hunsucker of Concord, Dawn (Jimmy) Hunsucker of Concord, two sisters Faye Gray (late Clyde Gray) of Kannapolis, LeAnn Anderson (Barry) of Kannapolis, two brothers Kenneth Hunsucker (Toni) of Mooresville, and Gary Hunsucker (Vickie) of Concord, seven grandchildren, and two Great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, (November 21) at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
