Obituary: Ruger Ryan Nickelson, age 3 weeks and 3 days, of Kannapolis passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 18, 2013 at his home. His funeral will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 23 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Cooper and Scotty Rollins officiating. Burial will follow at Kannapolis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 22 at the funeral home at other times the family will be gathered at 224 Westover Ave., home of Annette and Carl Nickelson. Ruger was born Christmas Day, 2012 in Cabarrus Co. He was the son of Justin and Katie Christy Nickelson. He was the best Christmas present anyone would be lucky enough to ever have. In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memories include his grandparents, Annette and Carl Nickelson of Kannapolis, his great-grandparents, Glenda and Hayden Caylor of Murphy, NC, his great-great-grandparents, Max and Sue Christy of Kannapolis and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Ruger was preceded in death by his grandmother, Terry Denise Christy and great-grandparents, Rev. Vernon and Dorothy Melton. Online condolences may be made to www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
