Obituary: Jamie Margie Howell, age 88, of Kannapolis died Monday, January 24, 2011 at CMC-NorthEast Med. Center in Concord after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 27 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Robinette officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Thursday. Jamie was born March 18, 1922 in Rowan Co. to the late J. W. and Carrie Combs Sechler. She was a life-long area resident and member of Rodgers Park Baptist. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was everything. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Jamie was preceded in death by 5 siblings; Mary Blevins, Zelda Cline, Ken Sechler, Beauleen Turner, Banks Sechler and also a grandchild and a great-grandchild. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Claud Allen Howell, of the family home and 5 children; Dewey Howell (Cathy) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Betty H. Wilson (Wayne) of Kannapolis, Charleen H. Sine (Richard) of Ft. Mill, SC, David Howell (Penny) of Concord and Jerry Howell (Sandi) of Bryson City. Survivors also include 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and 2 brothers, Charles "Bud" Sechler of China Grove and Bill Sechler of Kannapolis.
