Obituary: Mrs. Hazel Hendren Milam, 81, of First Assembly Living Center, Concord, formerly of Kannapolis, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord following a period of declining health. She was born September 2, 1928 in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late C.C. and Beatrice Poston Hendren. She was retired from Cannon Mills, Plt. #1, accounts payable division following 45 years of service. She was a member of Shadybrook Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Mike Smith of Lake City, S.C. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Thursday 10:00 AM- 11:30 AM prior to the funeral service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Milam, Sr. and a son, Eric Lynn Milam. She is survived by a Son: Bill L. Milam, Jr. and wife Becky of Maryville, Tenn. A daughter: Beth Smith and husband Mike of Lake City, S.C. Also survived by nine grandchildren: Amy Milam of Maryville, Tenn., Brennan Milam of Knoxville, Justin and Cristol Milam of Kannapolis, Brad Smith of Kannapolis, Ashley Gulledge of Midland, NC, Todd, Neal and Miranda Smith all of Lake City.
