Ruth Montooth Hampton

Obituary: Ruth Eula Montooth Hampton, 95, died Monday, October 29, 2012 at Liberty Commons in Salisbury where she resided. She was formerly a Kannapolis resident. Mrs. Hampton was born on September 23, 1917 in Newport, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Oscar and Siddie Lena Burnette Montooth. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard (Hoot) Lee Hampton, 4 sisters and a brother. Funeral services for Mrs. Hampton will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Whidden officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday prior to the services at the funeral home. Mrs. Hampton was a self employed hair stylist and was owner and operator of Center Beauty Salon in Kannapolis. She was a member of First Assembly Church in Concord, was a good Christian lady and served God for many years. She is survived by a son; Larry Wayne Hampton and wife Marcelene of Kernersville, a daughter; Pat Hampton Leebrick and husband Chris of Kannapolis, a grandson; Tracy Hampton and wife Chrissy, a granddaughter; Lisa Hampton Carawan and husband Jay, 5 great grandchildren; Matthew and William Hampton, and Savannah, Cole and Sophia Carawan.
