Obituary: Ruth Anne Odom Harwell, 63, of 3537 Odell School Road, Concord died at CMC-NorthEast on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013. She was born on April 23, 1950 in Darlington Co., SC, the daughter of the late William H. Odom, Sr. and the late Margaret Hall Odom. Ruth Anne had worked for Cannon Mills for over 26 years. She then worked for 5 Oaks Retirement Center for the past 8 years. She was the happiest when at work. She is survived by her husband, Bobby A. Harwell of the home; a daughter, Judy Shirah and husband Michael of Concord; a step-son, Jeff Harwell and wife Ronda of Concord; grandchildren, Brian Harwell, Josh Harwell and Maranda Shirah; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. A memorial service will take place at 1PM, Saturday, August 24. 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. R.J. Hammond.
