Ruth Roberts Miller

Obituary: Ruth Rebecca (Becky) Roberts Miller, age 90, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville, NC. She was born September 18, 1918 in Guilford County, NC, the son of the late Richard Berlin Roberts and Angie Holbrooks Roberts. She was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plt#1 Sewing Room for 45 years until her retirement.She held her church membership at Lane Street Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC and had been a resident of the area since 1923. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Alton Worley Miller who died in 1986 and a daughter, Dorothy Kelsey; and two brothers, Guy Hugh Roberts and Bill Roberts. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Raymond Davis.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC.The family will be at the home of her son, Jimmy L. Miller, 6744 Plyler Road, Kannapolis, NC remainder of the time Survivors include her two sons, Jimmy Miller & wife, Phyllis and Kenneth Miller, both of Kannapolis, NC; 6 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Preslar of Landis, NC.
