Ruth Greene Puckett

Obituary: Concord, NC Ruth Greene Puckett, 76, of Concord died Monday June 21, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast. She was born December 25, 1933 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of Louise G. Sutherland of Concord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby (Buck) Puckett on June 17, 1997. She had worked in the cafeteria at UNCC for many years. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church where she had formerly been the organist. She enjoyed spending time with her family. A service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. James Smith and Rev. James Strickland. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Friday at Whitley's. In addition to her mother, she is survived by 3 sons: Bobby Wallace Puckett Jr. of Concord, Alfred Lee Puckett of Ft. Mill, SC and John Russell Puckett Sr. of Concord, her daughter Bonnie P. Black of Hendersonville, two sisters Bobbie Shaw of High Point and Dorothy Young of California, her brother Curtis Cox of Blacksburg, SC, 8 grandchildren and a number of greatgrandchildren.
