Ruth Marie Campbell Purser

Obituary: Ruth Marie Campbell Purser, 90, of Kannapolis died at Five Oaks Manor on April 13, 2013. The service for Mrs. Purser will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, April 15, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Gene Edwards. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 Pm prior to the funeral. Mrs. Purser was born Nov. 10, 1922 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Carl Arthur Campbell, Sr. and Ethel Lee Powell Campbell. Ruth was a lifelong area resident and member of Eastwood Baptist Church. She was employed with Cannon Mills co. for 52 years in many Depts. at Plant #1. She was a hard worker. Her favorite time of year was Christmas and she dearly loved to give candy at Halloween. She loved music, the Book of Psalms, hummingbirds and the beach. Ruth loved God, her children and NEVER met a stranger. She is survived by two daughters; Nancy Pat Bradshaw Linker of Concord and Libby Sides of Landis and three sons; Vone Purser and Randy Dale Purser both of Kannapolis and Billy Arthur Purser of High Rock Lake, NC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Campbell, Preston Campbell, Bud Campbell and three sisters, Marion McLain, Peggy Linker and Kat Glenn.
Visitation: 1:00-2:00 PM, Monday April 15, 2013 at Whitley's.

Service: 2:00 pm, Monday April 15, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Carolina Mem. Park.
