Ruth (Morrow) Stegall

Mary Ruth Morrow Stegall, affectionately known as Ruth, 93, of Charlotte, went into her heavenly home on Thursday, April 2, 2020.

Ruth was born on January 8, 1927 in Cabarrus County to the late Carl Morrow and Bessie Potts Morrow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Clayton Junior Stegall, and brothers, James Morrow and Lewis Morrow.

Ruth was a graduate of Cannon High School Class of 1944. She spent her career as an administrative assistant for A&P Grocery for over 25 years. She was a long-time member of Plaza Baptist Church and member of the Pillars. Her love of coloring brought her comfort, and she was very meticulous in all her fantastic works.

Everyone called her MeMaw, and the love she had for her family and friends was unmeasurable.  That same love was returned in abundance from those who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include son, James “Jim” Stegall and wife Krista Tipton-Stegall; two grandchildren, James Stegall, Jr.  and wife, Jennifer, and Shelley Turner, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Park with Rev. David Gales officiating. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
