Ruth Strickland

Obituary: Ruth Rebecca Gibbs McInnis Strickland, 94, of Harmony, formerly of Landis, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Rosewood Assisted Living in Harmony following a period of declining health. She was born September 19, 1920 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Gibbs and the late Elviria Pearl Evans Gibbs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Strickland, Jr on Oct.28, 2000, a son, Jerry McInnis and wife Millie, grandson, Tommy McInnis and Brother Harold Gibbs. Mrs. Strickland was of the Baptist Faith. She was a weaver at Cannon Mills for27 years until her retirement due to ill health. Survivors include two sons, Jimmie McInnis of Mocksville and Kenneth McInnis of Florida. Also survived by one granddaughter, three grandsons, one great grandson, two great granddaughters, two great great granddaughters and one great great grandson. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday, June 29, 2015 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Mike Hubbard.
