Ruth Thornburg

Obituary: Ruth Thornburg, 88, of Kannapolis passed away on December 22, 2016 at the New Jersey home of her daughter, Leila Breakfield Adams and her husband, John. She was born Leona Ruth Adams on April 21, 1928 in Kannapolis, NC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Adams, three sisters, Eyvonne Lambert, Opal Power and Mary Francis Stegall. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her brother, Challie Adams (Mary) and family, Cindy Watson (Mel) and family, Diane Story (Ray) and family, Linda Murph Sloop (Mickey) and family, Ralph Campbell (Pam) and family, loving nieces and nephews, in-laws and a host of long-time friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
