Sadie Holbrook

Obituary: Sadie Morris Holbrook, 78, of Kannapolis went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health. She was born March 21, 1935 in Rowan County, NC a daughter of the late Ernest Lee and Lula Sides Morris. Mrs. Holbrook was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church and later attended Centerview Baptist Church. She served as a nutrionist for the Kannapolis City Schools for 23 years. After retirement she enjoyed going to the Senior Center, she enjoyed cooking for her family and loved to work in her flower beds as long as her health permitted. Her Husband, Henry Lee "Buck" Holbrook preceded her in death June 24, 1998. Survivors include three sons: Lonnie Holbrook of Kannapolis, Michael Corriher of New Bern, and Dan Holbrook of Raleigh, one daughter: Shelia Ferrier of Kannapolis, brother, Roy Morris and sister Dolly Rector both of Salisbury, five grandchildren: Krista Corriher of New Bern, Christy Hendley , Sawyer Holbrook, and Emalie Holbrook all of Kannapolis and Gary Holbrook of Raleigh. Two great grandchildren, Madison Corriher of New Bern and Carter Hendley of Kannapolis also survive. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Doug Pierce, Sr. and Rev. Willie Rash. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence.
