Obituary: Sallie B. Thompson Sanchez, 81, of Landis, NC died at her home on March 29, 2015. Sallie was born on October 11, 1933 in Floyd Co., Kentucky, the daughter of the late Willie Thompson and the late Martha Meadows Thompson. Sallie was a lover of beautiful things. She adored her Native American Décor and trips to the Cherokee Indian Reservation with her late companion, James Culbertson who preceded her in death. She enjoyed talking to loved ones and giving advice. Sallie took pride in all of her grandchildren and was a lifelong homemaker. A graveside service for Mrs. Sanchez will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 3rd , 2015 at West Lawn Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Kenneth Miller, Jr. and Rev. Wade Easom. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior in the Mausoleum Chapel of West Lawn. She is survived by 7 children, including Connie Miller of Mt. Blanchard, OH., Sally Menius of Landis, Lonita Rose Price of Freemont, OH., 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
