Sally Elizabeth Childers Shaw

Obituary: Sally Elizabeth Childers Shaw, 61 of Kannapolis, died Friday, April 13, 2012 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House. Her death follows a period of declining health. Ms. Shaw was born on February 20, 1951 in Cabarrus County a daughter of the late James Homer and Martha Leah Barnette Childers. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three sisters, Orene Jordan, Linda Yates, and Betty Hooper. Sally was an employee at Cannon Mills prior to retiring due to illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home main chapel with Rev. Joseph B. Harding officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00 PM prior to the services on Tuesday. Sally is survived by a daughter, Karen Ritchie of Kannapolis, a son Michael Ritchie of Kannapolis, grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jacob Ritchie, sisters, Susie Sloop, Jearldine Privette (Theodore), Maxine Rushing (HB), Joyce Storm, all of Kannapolis, and Debbie Lambert (Phil) of China Grove.
