Samuel Green

Obituary: Samuel (Sammy) Sidney Green, Jr., 55, of Kannapolis passed away on May 28, 2018 at the Tucker Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 25, 1963 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Samuel Green Sr. and Betty Parnell Green. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Green in 2017. Sammy had worked at the Charlotte Observer for over 30 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved fishing. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Sammy is survived by his sister, Peggy Green, two special nephews, Pablo Green and Zachary Cook, best friend, Gerald Gillespie, his beloved Chihuahua, "Buddy", cousin, Connie Shaw and two special neighbors, Carl and Kermit.
