Samuel Lee Jester

Obituary: Samuel Lee Jester, 83, of Kannapolis died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Brian Center, Concord, following a period of declining health. He was born March 21, 1928 in Marion County, Indiana a son of the late C.D. and Grace Farmer Jester. Mr. Jester was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Kannapolis and was a retired mechanical engineer who had worked for Spectrol Electronics and Rainbird Sprinklers. He was a veteran of the US Army Corps of Engineers serving during the Korean War Era and obtaining the rank of Tech. Sgt. He and his wife were longtime residents of Los Angeles prior to moving to Kannapolis in 2005. Samuel was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Rev. James Matchette. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Friday 6:00-8:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the family residence.He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Julia Knight Jester, a son, Michael Kent Jester of Kannapolis and a daughter, Michelle Kay Jester of San Francisco, Ca.
