Samuel Stephen Manriquez, 65 years old, of Landis, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 30, 2022. Sam was born in Flint, Michigan on August 19, 1957 to the late Henry and Doris Tanner Manriquez.
Sam was a graduate of Mooresville High School class of 1975. He was a musician since the age of 14 and gave music lessons in the surrounding area. He was a member of the Southern Country Nights (CAST) in Surfside Beach, SC and played at Carolina Opry as well as the Grand Ole Opry. Sam also opened for main acts such as, Alabama, Charlie Daniels, Brad Paisley and many others. Besides his love for music, Sam also loved his church, the First Reformed Church in Landis, NC, where he also played in the Praise Band.
Sam was predeceased by his father Henry Manriquez; his mother, Doris Tanner Jordan; his brother Phillip Manriquez and his granddaughter, Sofia Isabelle Manriquez. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Donna Martin Manriquez; his son, Jeremiah Manriquez and his wife Nicole; his daughter, Tisha Kelly and her husband Mark; his brothers, Daniel Manriquez and his wife Sherry and Keith Manriquez; his grandchildren, Kaitlin Wolf and her husband Philipp, Hailey Lee and her husband Todd, Joshua Kelly, Jailin Kelly, Dylan, Andrew, Nathaniel and Ezra Manriquez and his great granddaughter, Tatum Wolf.
A Celebration of Life for Sam will be held on October 9, 2022 at 3PM at the First Reformed Church, 210 N Central Ave, Landis, NC.
Memorial contributions can be made in Sam’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation.
