Obituary: Concord, NC - Samuel James (Samich) Wallace, age 13, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at home as a result of an accident. He was born October 19, 1997 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of James Wallace and Lisa Irving Wallace. Sam was a 7th grade student at Harris Road Middle School, Concord, NC. He loved playing baseball and was an avid supporter of his favorite teams, the Atlanta Braves and the Duke Blue Devils. Sam was an active member of Coddle Creek A.R.P Church where he was a Boy Scout and a faithful youth member. Sam was a friend to everyone and he never failed to brighten someone's day. In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother, Charlie Wallace, and a sister, Elisabeth Wallace, both of the home; paternal grandmother, Jackie Anderson of Concord, NC; and a great-grandmother, Jetta Carroll of Concord, NC; maternal grandparents, Charles and Kay Varnadore of Kannapolis, NC and Charles and Janet Irving of Charleston, SC; several aunts, cousins, an uncle, and his faithful dog Gracie. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Coddle Creek A.R.P Church in Mooresville, NC, officiated by Rev. Jamie Hunt, Josiah Jones and Rev. Mark Miller. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Coddle Creek A.R.P Church, Building Fund 2297 Coddle Creek Highway, Mooresville, NC 28115. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
