Sandra Bogan Haynes

Obituary: Sandra Bogan Haynes, age 70, of Concord died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House after a period of declining health. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday at Harvest Community Church in Concord, with Rev. Jeff Burris officiating. Her family will receive friends from 2 to 3:00 PM at the church prior to the memorial service. Private inurnment will follow at a later date. Sandra was born December 30, 1941 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Walter Stancil Bogan and Maggie McLendon Bogan. Her sister, Barbara Stirewalt, also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters; Laura H. Hammill (David) of Gold Hill, Lisa H. Ward (Kent) of Concord and Kelly H. Hartsell (Greg) of Salisbury, her 7 grandchildren; Casie and Steven Ward, Chelsea, Megan, Jacob and Ethan Hammill and Madison Moore, her nephew, Bren Stirewalt and her niece, Martha Stirewalt Walters. Sandra considered the biggest and best accomplishments of her life her 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, many loving friends and her career as a Home Health Nurse. She loved to serve those in need and for years provided compassionate care to many. Even as her health failed she continued to volunteer at her church. Through adversity she was a pillar of strength and an example to those that knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy will continue on through the family she selflessly raised and the standards she set for them. "Well done, good and faithful servant."
