Sandra Jane (Wallace) Winburn

Sandra Jane Wallace Winburn, 75, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2023 at Tucker Hospice House following a short illness.

She was born April 10, 1950 in Chesterfield County, S.C., a daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Sellers Moore. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Wayne Lyman who died May 6, 1985, a son, Doug Lyman in 2013, a granddaughter, Crystal Fisher in 2020 and a brother, Perry Wallace.

Family members surviving include two daughters; Donna Nava and husband Martin of Kannapolis and Crystal Butler “Dawn’ Carlos of Kannapolis. Two sisters, Darlene Stowe of Kannapolis and Mary Wallace of Salisbury. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Josh Fisher, Antonio Nava, Matt Nava, Passion Butler, Wayne and Devin Lyman. Also surviving is a great grandchild Katlyn Pheiffer along with three other grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Walter Lyman. The family will receive friends Thursday 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.

Sandra was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She had been employed as a spinner at China Grove Mill for 25 years until her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping and spending time with her family.
