Obituary: Sarah Cornelia Lambert Murph, age 72, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after a serious illness. She was born February 20, 1941 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late George Washington Lambert and Ila Easley Lambert. Sarah was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, Wash Cloth Dept. for many years. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Her family fondly remembers her love of working around the house plus tending to her flowers in her yard. Many saw her as a loving caring mother who believed in helping others before herself. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harley Bruce Murph on February 25, 2000; one brother; and two sisters. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Buck Canup. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the funeral home. Survivors include her children, Anthony Murph (Kathi) of China Grove, NC; Tangela Waller (Samuel) of Concord, NC; and Cammie Bell of Kannapolis, NC; her grandchildren, Lindsay Cook (Darren), Dustin Parson, Brittany Waller, Kayla Waller, Madison Bell, and David Solomon; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Cook and Charles Cook; four sisters, Eunice Craig, Irene Ritchie, Betty Seahorn, and Phyllis Nance; and her two pet Chihuahuas, Binkey and Jada Murph.
