Obituary: Sarah Goins Hamm, 92, of Kannapolis passed away on Jan. 14, 2019. She was born July 18, 1926 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Vol Goins and Annie Mae Faulkenberry Goins. Sarah had retired from Cannon Mills after many years. Sarah was so full of life, love, laughter, and always on the go. So many times we'd try and call her and she was out somewhere...usually thrift store shopping, getting groceries at Aldi, visiting or eating with someone, or one of her other favorite places...church. She dearly loved her husband, Isaac A. Hamm (who passed nearly 20 years ago), her 3 children, Sharon "Becki" Edwards, Stephen Scott Hamm (Marsha) and Timothy Hamm (deceased), 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, their spouses, her brother, Harold Goins (JoAnn) and their fur children (as long as they didn't lick her or their wet nose touch her lol. She also loved her church, First Wesleyan Church and her church family and was always talking about a song that was sung or a sermon that really touched her. She was always smiling or making a silly face. She taught her children and grandchildren what marriage was, what being a faithful Christian was, how to love people (even the hard ones), and how to laugh and live life. She loved spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held at First Wesleyan Church at 2:00 PM on Friday, Jan. 18th officiated by Rev. Scott Wheeler. Her family will receive friends prior from 12:00 to 2:00 at church. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Wesleyan Church, 301 Bethpage Rd., Kannapolis, NC 28081. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
