Obituary: Sarah Elaine Eagle Smith, 63 of Concord, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord, NC. Born on October 25, 1946 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late James Bernard Eagle and the late, Dorothy Catherine Driver Eagle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Don Eagle. Elaine was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She worked, for many years, as a health care provider for senior citizens. She had a special love for plants and of photography. Survivors include her sons; Michael E. Smith and wife, Anisa of Mt. Pleasant and Shane Smith and wife, Lisa of Harrisburg. 4 grandchildren; Angel Smith, Malorie Smith, Jerrett Smith and Austin Smith. 1 great-grandchild; Emma Grace Smith. 3 sisters; Diane Steelman of Baltimore, MD, Beth Hubbard of Kannapolis and Jill Hudson and husband, Phil of China Grove, NC. The funeral service for Mrs. Smith will take place at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 28th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Morris Tyree.
