Obituary: Concord - Shannon Edward Moore, 38, of 1301 Braeburn Road died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at CMC-University Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 10, 1970 in Orange County, Fl. son of George Edward and Mildred Lee Fitzgerald Moore of Kannapolis. He had been employed at Wachovia Bank and at the time of his death was employed with Goodyear Tire retail sales in the Concord area. He attended Mecklenburg Community Church and Southside Baptist Church. He was an alumni of UNCC. He was an avid Florida Gator Fan and loved Radio Controlled Racing and golf. His early life interests included BMX racing, baseball, football, and wrestling. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. He was a loving husband and father to his two children. In addition to his parents his is survived by his wife: Dawn Montgomery Moore whom he married Nov. 13, 1999. Two Sons: Matthew and Brandon Moore of the home. Wife's parents Dave and Mickie Montgomery of Concord, Paternal Grandmother: Grace Moore of Clermont, Fla., wife's great Grandparents: Joe and Margaret Montgomery of Ogdensburg, N.Y., wife's great grandmother: Mabel Gagnon of Ogdensburg, NY. Sisters-in Laws and spouses who were considered sisters and brothers: Melissa and Scott Murray, Melinda and Pete Hefti, Jill and Lewis Alston, A Cousin whom he loved like a brother, Sean Fitzgerald. Numerous cousins also survive. Pets Mokie and Gator also survive. Duke University doctors considered him a "Poster Boy" for participating in clinical studies which helped save other lives. He touched many people with his love and kindness and knew how to give and recognize love generously. He was considered by his family to be a special hero to them and an inspiration to many others. Services will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, May 1, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Stuart Fitzgerald, an uncle. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 P.M. prior to services. At other times the family will be at the residence. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family thanks Dr. R.
