Obituary: Shelia Basinger Sherrill- 08/15/1952 - 02/12/2013 Shelia passed on at home while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 12th. She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, John C. Sherrill; her three sons; Matt Sherrill, Brad Sherrill & wife Laura, and Daniel Sherrill & wife Elizabeth; two grandsons, Sandon Sherrill and Alexander Sherrill and her father, Eugene Basinger; sister, Gena Freeman & husband Mark. She is the daughter of the late Mae Basinger. Shelia is known and will always be remembered for her contagious smile and continuous love for all those around her. She served as a Special Needs teacher, nurturing and caring for both the children and parents alike for 39 years in the Cabarrus County School System. Shelia was a devout member of Epworth Methodist Church. She took every opportunity to share her gifts through singing and uplifting others. She was a member of the Epworth Methodist Chancel Choir, the Florence Allred Circle and served as a Stephen minister, visiting and comforting those in all areas of need. A service will be held as a continuing celebration of her life at Epworth Methodist Church on Saturday, February 16th at 1:00pm. The family will receive visitors immediately following the service at the church. Flowers can be sent to Epworth United Methodist Church.
